About the event
The Thames Riverside 20 is the final Spring Marathon tune-up race of the training programme and is a flat, 20-mile route along the Thames towpath.
Starting and finishing at Old Deer Park, the route immediately heads out along the Thames towpath towards Ham, making two 5k loops through the local streets (following a very similar course to the Ranelagh Harriers 10k) before heading back past Old Deer Park and on to the turnaround point at Chiswick Bridge. The course then doubles back on itself and back to Old Deer Park and the finish line.
This is the final long long run of the Spring Marathon training programme and is also an excellent opportunity for anyone else to test themselves at longer distances in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Pacers are available from 7:00 mins/ mile up to 10:00 mins/ mile, while drinks stations are on the course every 3 miles with water and energy drinks.
The race starts at 08:30 sharp, and there’s a 5-hour cut-off. Arrive at Old Deer Park around 07:30 to collect your bib and warm up.
This is an officially certified race organised by Clapham Chasers, so it’ll appear in your Power of 10.
